Wildflowers

It's been a funny kind of a day. Nice and bright this morning, then came the rain and wind, then this afternoon we had more sunshine so I popped down to Pickering's pasture for a hour or so and I'm glad I did.

They have a wildflower meadow which has grown considerably since the last time I was here a few weeks ago. It's full of ox-eye daisies mainly, with a few poppies, ribwort plantain and the odd cornflower and pink flowers thrown in too. I expected it to be teaming with insects and butterflies, but I only saw a few tiny insects and one white butterfly, so a tad disappointing. Maybe it was just a bit cool and windy? I might do back tomorrow as it's supposed to be sunny all day.
