Diary of an Edinburgher

Meadows Festival

Today turned out to be sunny and warm, though the BBC weather app had predicted gloom and rain. I do hope it's similarly wrong this week - we're to expect rain every single day!

I decided to cut the grass mow the lawn this morning instead of going on my bike. Made easier because Becky and Daniel took Archie out to Harrison Park for a long walk.

The Meadows Festival has been on all weekend, so I’m sure they're glad it was fairly good weather. There were crowds there yesterday and today as well. Archie and I took a wander down this afternoon. I couldn’t resist some chips. There were lots of dogs, and miles of food and bric a brac stalls. And two stages with very noisy bands.

Archie spotted from afar the big thing that swung up in the air with screaming people in it, and he started barking, never having anything like it in his wee life!

As we got nearer (it was on the way home) he kept getting a fright as it swooped around. It did look very scary! He'd got quite used to it by the time I took this photo, so he's not frightened any more, just pi**ed off.

Stopped off to see Christine’s new car, though she had only gone about 20 miles and a light came on to say that one tyre had lost pressure! It's been checked, twice, and it hasn’t. And her folding-in side mirrors don't fold in. Modern technology is too clever for itself.

New kitchen appliance arriving tomorrow!
