Bouquetin on Roc D’Orsay

A wonderful, last minute blip meet, on the mountain with Hilarysview. (Extra) We were so lucky to see three black grouse having followed their calls. A first for me. Then a herd of chamois. The crocuses up there are stunning at the moment.

Finally, having searched for bouquetin on the ridge we dropped down only to see them appear above us. We lost sight of them but headed back up again and suddenly they appeared above us. Never expected to get so close to a bouquetin..... too close for Hilarysview’s long lens. The older female even started walking towards us at one point.
The ridge here is really exposed (see extra). It’s difficult to imagine anything living here.
