Moors Valley Country Park
The first night of camping with my sister’s grandchildren was a success! They seemed to be happy sleeping in a tent.
After a slow morning we decided to take them to the nearby Moors Valley Country Park and Forest. We had a picnic, then let them play in two different playgrounds. Aneeta, who is five, loves to climb things and she seems to have no fear! She climbed the giant Gruffalo and then some rope climbing frames. That’s her hanging upside down in the middle left picture. Jasmine (3) also enjoyed the swings and slides and the two of them even enjoyed a double swing together.
We went for a ride on the miniature steam train and stopped at the end of the line to have ice creams before heading back the other way. The train ride was scenic, going along a pretty lake with water lilies. (We saw a container of Dolly’s favourite chew sticks available for dogs and it made us miss her! That’s a first that I’ve seen THOSE sticks available at a cafe!)
A fun outing. But we were all very tired - especially Grandma and Great-Auntie Heidi!
