Past traditions

These rather ancient angel chimes used to be part of our Boxing Day tradition when my mother and father in law were alive. The family gathered at their house for tea on Boxing Day and the chimes were part of the table decorations. We always had to have complete silence when the candles were lit to see if Great Granny could hear them (she never could!)
I fetch them out every year from the original box tied up with a bandage (M-I-L was a nurse) They now stand over a radiator and the heat sends them round as candles never last long.
Old traditions have been replaced with new ones over the years, but these chimes are still part of our Christmas.
