Now you see it, now you don’t

Moved from Melville Ponds RV site near Newport RI to Ashaway RV resort still in RI and only 50 miles west. Where did the day go?

Finally got the phone issue sorted. To dial a US number on a UK (Three) mobile while on the US requires a 0111 in front of the rest of the numbers. I never knew that! I do now.

Went for a walk around the said Ponds, can’t find out much about them. Shortly after leaving we spotted a supermarket so called in for more supplies followed by a visit to the Liquor Store next door - no liquor sold in supermarkets in RI.

By this time it was gone 1 o’clock and time for lunch in Jamestown. We were fortunate to find a spot to park the RV which also had a view across the beach and ocean. That was pretty much the last view we saw as the fog rolled in and obscured everything again.

We walked into Jamestown which was a very pleasant place, decided not to go on a trip in the ferry, owing to the fog, had a coffee and walked back to the RV. The Claiborne Pell Bridge which we’d crossed earlier also succumbed to the fog. Visited a couple of state park, Fort Wetherill and Beavertail which looked both the same in the fog. The views are supposed to be spectacular from both these Parks.
