In Reflection
Well what a day up at 8.30 opening the presents, then bacon sandwiches all round. How organised was I though, soup made; turkey in the oven and sprouts prepared, you could say I was ahead of schedule. The table was all set and decorated so Hayley and Euan came with me on the journey to Rosewell to pick up my Mother and Father in law.
On the way back with the car packed with pressies, we came to a tight corner on the road up from Roslin Glen and met this speedster on my side of the road who came hurtling round the bend. I swerved into the grass verge to miss him but luckily he swerved the other way and missed me by a hairs breadth. There was much screaming; shouting and indeed some swearing, but luckily we were all in one piece. Must have been our lucky day.
The blip today sums it up for me, I'm sitting enjoying a beer with a smile on my face but my father in law I think is experiencing a flash back to that close call we all had on the Glen Road, a split second earlier and it could have all been so different.
In reflection, a very lucky christmas to us and a very Merry Christmas to all off you.
