We took advantage of a nice dry day and headed up to Perthshire, and the HG did a long walk at Birnham while I toddled along the river to the Birnham Oaks, those of you who know your Macbeth will be familiar with the Birnham Woods and Dunsinane Hill, mentioned in Shakespearen's play.
It seems that Shakespeare was in the area when he was an actor and made this area the setting for his famous play.
The Birnham Oak is very old and is believed to go back to medieval times.
We had a nice day out, although I wish I could walk further, but will be able to in time. After we met up we had coffee in the Birnham Arts Centre, always a nice place to visit.
