First

The first dragonfly seen on our pond this year.  It's a four spot chaser, and he was patrolling our pond, seeing off other visitors.  Twice, there was a mid air flurry with a female, who went on to oviposit in the pond whilst he patrolled above her.  I couldn't get a photo of the female, as she never stopped moving.  I don't know if it was the same female twice, or a different one each time.  

There were lots of red and blue damselflies - he didn't seem worried about their activity - he was perhaps eyeing them up for supper! But whenever we were visited by another dragonfly, he saw them off in short order.  I think at least one was a broad bodied chaser, but never really saw any of the others - he was too vigilant.
