Sweet Briar
Sometimes called Eglantine which is from Middle English 'eglentyn', from Old French 'aiglantin'.
Sweet Briar: the sweet refers to the sweet apple fragrance of the leaves and briar refers to it being a thorny bush.
Today is Ascension Day and a national holiday here, so it feels like Sunday and is very peaceful in my neighbourhood. Two one-hour walks today to enjoy other people's gardens and all their lovely flowers!
