Christmas' day

I have walked on my own today through the empty streets of Edinburgh. The silence was overwhelming at times; a sign of loneliness. But at others, it made me feel as if there was not trouble around, nowhere in the world. For that, I like the silence of Christmas. Would we be able to keep it for long?
