The Christmas tree controversy
A source of great friction in the household each year surrounds the Christmas tree.
I object on a number of grounds:
1. I'm an atheist and don't go in for all the Christmas glitz and trimmings;
2. Cutting down trees is at odds with my environmentalist beliefs;
3. Imitation trees are just plain tacky and usually manufactured using all kinds of toxic materials.
This year a compromise has been struck. A Norfolk pine has been purchased in a pot, that can be transplanted into the bottom paddock in the New Year.
Could be the start of a family tradition.
