Occasional showers
An enjoyable day out, mostly with the son. It had started a fine clear day with a nice light breeze; by the time we piloted the wheezing inflatable over to the boat it had dropped and the sky had become grey. Photogenic oily sea though. So we had biscuits and cups of tea before heading ashore and off for a cycle about.
First stop, the daughter’s where we were warmly received and shown about. Her recently painted (all that lovely stripped wood gone!) front room is so very on trend, I’m sure.
Onward, puff, puff, up to the old mosque kitchen. The outside one where the pigeons alight on the tables, beloved of blippers away back then.
To the bike coop to get the lad a new rear tyre; that’s the other half of his birthday present done. And finally to the Filmhouse to see Birds of Passage. Top film with some fantastic dream-like landscape scenes alongside a tragic tale of greed and fate ‘n’that.
Later out to meet L&Tony at Compass for an eat and Glasto catch up - the Proclaimers have been added to the bill! Michty. And there was a pub quiz! We came second and there were loads of teams. Tony’s quite good.
