Sally Mair - Loving life

Wayside flowers

In a brief dry period today I spotted these in a roadside verge in Silverknowes, one is clearly an Allium, I didn't recognise the other, but according to plantnet it's a wild agapanthus. I'm not sure of some of these wild flower meadows which although very pretty do dramatically change the local flora....but then again, I guess we do that with our garden plants anyway! Dilemma!
I took a friend out for coffee to Mannerston's this morning, excellent as always and, don't tell Meles but I bought some bean plants at the garden centre next door. I came home, planted the beans then decided that as it was soup weather I would maybe a pot of cream of carrot soup and a yummy pizza for tea.
Spent the afternoon writing a report and a talk for the Cursillo meeting on Saturday, so I'm glad to have those done. It's as good a way as any to pass a wet afternoon!
I verified the identity of a new UK citizen online tonight as she applied for her first British passport. It's strange, I've never thought of her as a US citizen as her mum is Scottish still she's a Scot too now, and very welcome too.
Only 7500 steps today, but that's fine as I did 6 days out of 7 this week.
