Sailing home (Day 1484)

An early start today to meet Vinny and Chris at Tingwall for the crossing to Rousay for another look at the borehole pump. Last time we were there, we thought that the problem was a control box and today it was to be replaced. With the control box replaced, the pump still didn't run, and we hauled the pump back out of the ground. Much easier with three of us doing it. It seems that there is a fault with the pump and we will need to source a new pump and return to get it fitted. It has been a bit of a frustrating day, and it was cold and damp as we worked at the top of the borehole.
We tried to get an early boat home, but were unlucky as the boat was full, and hung around at the pier for a couple of hours waiting for the last boat of the day. The weather improved as we waited and the crossing was worth a snap or two.
Perhaps the reasonable weather will continue until tomorrow and  my beautiful wife and I will get out a ride on the horses.
