Clean

Today I unpacked and set up my new iMac and in the process totally emptied and cleaned my desk. This is such an event that I needed to record it, not with a picture of my super new 27inch Mac, which is gorgeous, but with this wooden tray that has always been on my desk. It is about 30cm long and is usually full of all those bits and pieces which accumulate. Today it was emptied and polished. 

I don't know how I came to have it, but I suspect that, similar to this, it was made by my great uncle who was a cabinet maker of some skill. I wonder whether he made it as a gift for someone in the family - it has obviously been used as a pen tray judging by the ink stains. I do like the wood grain and the smart handles.
