The day after.
Over here, the festivities centre around the 24th. When the first star appears in the sky, dinner is served. It features 12 different dishes and no meat. There is an extra place setting just in case anyone should knock at the door and want dinner. The presents come after that.
Christmas Day is a very quiet affair. I spend the day avoiding Facebook and the like so as not to miss the normal English Christmas traditions too much. Instead of the Two Ronnies re-run you get, I get the Fiddler On The Roof movie with one guy narrating in Polish...
This eveing we visited the cemetery where Gosia's dad's ashes are buried. Nobody does cemeteries like the Poles. At Christmas, as on other special occasions, the graves of family and friends will be swept, cleaned, and decorated with flowers and candles. The densly-packed graveyards will be spectacular with light and colour and busy with visitors despite the cold.
