Inside All Saints
Today, my work colleague and I managed to get to look round the inside of the church which I blipped on Tuesday.
The key holder works in a gallery next door and was more than happy to let us in and leave us with the keys to lock up again and return them to him.
Inside we saw the 13thC stone font. The original 15thC wooden pulpit which unfortunately had been painted and countless other artifacts which had been rescued including some flags that had been found stuffed in the bell tower and are in the process of being restored.
The organ and high altar are in front of a partition which seperates the church from the chancel which is the red rick building that was rebuilt somewhere between 1824 & 1831.
It`s a glorious mix of Gothic & Classical and I`m definately going back for another look.
