Catnip confrontation
It was a Christmas day lunch at me ole Mum's for me. I'll be heading round there again later to facilitate a transcontinental videoconference with her two nieces and nephew, other son and daughter-in-law in California.
Meanwhile, me ole Ma has two cats. I have blipped them once or twice in the past. They are brother and sister and now furry senior citizens at the age of 15. Like many older cats they spend most of the days snoozing in warm corners (the airing cupboard is a particular favourite). But add fresh catnip mice into the mix and the excitement is dramatic and instantaneous, albeit short lived. They both got one for Christmas, but Max (the pale apricot one on the left) seemed strangely convinced, even while clawing and chasing his own, that his sister's mouse was somehow better. He kept pausing mid-pounce to check out hers while she rolled around on the carpet, chewing and drooling all over it. He even made two futile attempts to steal it from her...
