Arjuna Wijaya Chariot Statue

Another long lie in before going down to breakfast. Still feeling stuffed from last night but we have paid for it. Headed out before lunch to walk to the National museum and monument about 1.5 miles away. It’s hot so it took a while. Streets are deserted at the moment as they are still blocked off with riot police everywhere. Looks like they are packing up but still. Couldn’t get into the National museum due to a roadblock and razor wire but we were able to go into the national monument park. Went into the monument and got another lesson in Indonesian history before going up to the top of the monument. Great views of the city and its smog. Seems we are the new attraction, as I had to have my photo taken with a few of the locals. Headed back again and stopped off at McD’s for a drink and ice-cream. Had a bit of a look around the mall as J wanted a new suitcase but couldn’t find one that was any cheaper than back home. Had a table booked in the hotel restaurant, which was meant to be very good. Turned out to be an over price buffet as we are still in Ramadan. Very disappointing. Still managed to find the Monaco GP on the TV in the room.
