Inside York Minster
I'm just back from a brisk walk around York city centre. It was fairly busy with tourists wandering about, and a few folk heading out to the restaurants for lunch.
My Blip of 23rd Dec tackled the subject of people being lonely on this day - and I just saw the most precient example of this: a lady sitting alone having lunch in an otherwise busy bistro. She had her party hat on, and was taking an outstretched arm SP. I didn't know whether to laugh or cry.
Although I've walked past the Minster a thousand times, I've never set foot inside. I have to say that it is the most magnificent building - and I say that as a confirmed agnostic! The architecture, scale and atmosphere is truly awe inspiring.
This is a pano of the roof in the central area. I lay on my back to get the angle, but it's still a bit wonky. But I still reckon you'll get an idea...
Enjoy your lunch folks...
