Confined to quarters

The plant from two days ago is succiamele - literally ‘honey sucker’ or ‘broomrape’ from ‘rapum’ in Latin for abulb or tuber.

A parasitic plant that attaches itself to the roots of its host. There are quite a few in italy growing mainly in hill and mountain country. There is one variety that preys on the broad bean.

Another incredibly gloomy day as Italy goes to the polls. Rain and low cloud.

Can’t remember when I last had a cold like this.
