Back to the garden
A mixed day today - it began rather cool, but by late afternoon it suddenly became quite warm. Mrs M and I went to the Walled Garden again to prepare the ground for the runner beans and to cut down a load of plastic bottles to protect the young shoots. We planted most of the beans but needed more bottles - unfortunately when we went to Tesco's to rob the recycling bank the bins had been recently emptied and I couldn't reach the bottles which lay at the bottom! Litter picker required!
The spuds are coming on well too. I gave everything a good water, though rain is expected tomorrow. Pity, though we need it, as we have a Professional Gardeners' Guild visit to Stonefield Castle and Ormsay Gardens tomorrow - both on the Kintyre peninsula.
