Mam

This is my mam, Elspeth. She married my dad on the eve of her 21st birthday, and was with him til he died in 1995. She's a mother of four, grandmother of five and great-grandmother of one. She's the finest home cook you'll ever meet and is a demon at Scrabble and 500 (a card game similar to bridge, wildly popular in Shetland). Every year the whole family (18 of us this year) has Christmas dinner at her house on the 24th. Here she is relaxing (well, almost, she hates having her photo taken) after dinner.
