Christmas eve Mass

I am far from being a Churchgoer but this little church on the Lleyn Peninsula is worth making an exception for! It was built in the 12th century on the site of an older church. The thatched roof was replaced around 150 years ago. There is no water or electricity and the floor is strewn with Reeds and sweet smelling Herbs. The mass is conducted in Welsh with English subtitles by Candle light, Young people are given oranges pierced with a candle and coctail sticks full of sweets . Such a perfect prelude to Christmas day!
