Megalith!
This massive stone stands in a field above the Gwaun valley, dwarfing the cattle that come to rub their itchy sides against it. Except - not, because in reality it stands only a metre or so tall. I cheated with the perspective and boosted the colour too. Well, why not? It's Christmas and the day was very wet.
Small isolated standing stones in the middle of fields like this are usually dismissed as rubbing posts without any prehistorical significance. It's always puzzled me because if animals needs such facilities why aren't they more common?
I hope that everyone has a happy time tomorrow, wherever and however you celebrate the day, or even if you don't.
