Hidden Corner
I've been wandering around lately with my 50-200 lens picking out small scenes like these and I found this one hidden away behind some trees. The water level is quite high at the moment after all the rain, so I took advantage. There is new growth showing with the leaves, grass and reeds all starting to come back.
On one hand a tele allows me to isolate small areas, on the other it makes for depth of field issues. It's a balancing act.
Of the several I took of this area I like this arrangement because the log running diagonally across the frame, with the branch crossing it in the foreground and the base of the tree in the top left, forms a Z pattern that struck a chord.
