Yorkshire Sculpture Park
THURSDAY
After a couple of hours at work I headed over to YSP at Bretton for lunch and a Blipmeet with 60plus and Roy, Evolybab, Kiteseeker, and my cousin Freyjad.
In lovely warm sunshine we explored the sculpture park - I was really spoilt for choice in deciding which exhibit to blip.
The main blip is "Myth" by Damien Hirst. A white unicorn with half of its skin flayed to reveal vibrant red, pink and yellow musculature and tissues.
The extras include " Charity" also by Damien Hirst and modelled on a 1960's charity collection box it challenges outdated ways of depicting disability; and "A Needle Woman" by Kimsooja which supposedly explores the relationship between our bodies and the wider universe beyond.
