Gawthorpe Hall

After a visit to the dentist today I had decided to visit Gawthorpe Hall in Padiham near Burnley. Although I lived in the area for 20 years I had never visited the place. Its an absolute gem. I have been in the grounds before but never inside and its stunning. I was wowed by the Long gallery in the extras. I loved the bedroom and the hand embroidered bed spread, canopy and pelmet. A lovely coffee, scone and cream in the cafe then home, I did have a walk in the gardens before going inside. I am told locals call it the Downton of the North!
