Hatfield
Hatfield House.
A Jacobean house built by Robert Cecil in 1611 Earl of Salisbury and Chief Minister to King James the 1st.
The Water Sculpture outside the main entrance is called 'Renaissaince' and is by the artist Angela Connor and was installed in 2015. The sculpture rotates and tilts allowing the water to cascade into the pool that it stands in (other photos in extra).
The remains of the original house sit close by and this was the childhood home of Queen Elizabeth the 1st and her favourite all time residence.
It was seized for the crown by Henry VIII in 1497.
I've got to say that the dozen or so 500 year old oak trees in the grounds were amazing.
Another lovely day.
I hope you are all having a wonderful day. Take care.
Clive
