We had a family celebration for my cousin's birthday tonight. As usual, Alyssa baked her own cake: lemon meringue. She loves zesty lemony sweets just as much as I love anything made with dark chocolate.

The cake was delicious, although the meringue was a bit unwieldy and caused a few good laughs in the decorating and serving process - it just wouldn't stay put!

Very much looking forward to seeing everyone again on Christmas day. It had been far too long since the last family event.
