Two Rivers
A good lecture at the RGS this evening. Two women talking about their journeys along two rivers. One in Kurgistan, the other along the Murray river in Australia. Both completely different but both the same - there is a consistent decline in available water, too much is being siphoned off for irrigation and less is being grown because of the water shortages. In the SW Australia wineries the water is costing more than the wine it is being used to produce. So wine is cheaper than water.
All very depressing. Plus there were sever delays on the Central Line so I had time to take some pix of the bridge at Stratford station.
