A STUNNING PIECE OF HISTORY....

.... well today on our "European adventures" we travelled to Cologne around 40 minutes drive from Dusseldorf.

Amazingly it was a dull day (first bad weather day of our trip) caused by a cover of "fog" all day. However nothing could diminish the majesty of this Cathedral.

Building of the Cologne Cathedral commenced in 1248 and was finished in 1880, 632 years later. Originally the cathedral was built to house the Three Wise Men's shrine. Put simply it is massive.

The main pic I did a three shot pano to get it in one shot.

The extras show different features of the inside, the second extra showing just one section to the flooring. The scaffolding is just part of the massive continuing restoration work still going on from the war bombings

While there the organ was playing and have a video which I will get onto Flickr when have better wi-fi.

We then had a look around this fourth largest city in Germany.

Enjoy and have a look in LARGE
