Satsumas
There's something very special about the smell of satsumas which always makes me think of Christmas. I avoid buying them at other times of the year, because like Brussels Sprouts they taste their best in December. We always put one in the toe of each Christmas stocking, along with a handful of nuts and some chocolate coins.
I love the sheen on the peel, and the texture, and the colour, and the flavour. Truly a delight for all the senses.
