I'm dreaming of a wet Christmas

White Christmases have been a rare event in my life. The south-east of England is much more likely to have just a wet Christmas, and that certainly seems to be the case this year. The forecast is for a 70%-80% chance of rain here.

Nevertheless, we can stay warm, dry and cosy inside - unlike the unfortunate people in parts of Devon and Cornwall (and maybe elsewhere in the country) who have, in the last few days, suffered dreadful flooding and face a Christmas of clearing out floodwater and debris from their houses and businesses.
