Spirit of the Beehive

My Dear Fellows & Dear Princess,

We had a demo of software today. It went quite well. This worries Lemon.

"I'm waiting for it all to turn to shit," she confessed.

I'm with her on this. We've both worked in IT too long. This prolonged period of things not being a big pile of crap spooks us. We are used to ongoing debacle.

Speaking on ongoing debacle, I must remind you of "Wiggles-Gate", when Lemon tried to get tickets for six of her family to see "The Wiggles" - a children's performing act - performing live in Wellington on June 5th.

At the time, I compared them to The Singing Kettle, but I may have given you the wrong impression.

"I checked out The Singing Bloody Kettle," said Lemon one morning. "They were F*CKING SHIT compared to The Wiggles."

Now you know. Comparing the two is like comparing Led Zeppelin with Rod, Jane & Freddy.

So anyway, Lemon was UNABLE to get the six tickets, getting only THREE instead. Lemon's daughter (in her 20's) immediately demanded one. But now it transpires she cannot get time off work.

Undaunted, Lemon's daughter has now announced her plans to resign. She doesn't have a new job yet, but is sure she can find something, "So long as they'll let me have Wiggles Day off."

I take Lemon's point. I can't see anyone resigning over The Singing Kettle*.

* Although I remember hearing that, behind the scenes, The Singing Kettle were very sex and drugs and rock 'n' roll. Someone told me a story about seeing one of them shagging on the bonnet of their Porsche in a parking-lot outside one venue.

Let's hope they DON'T know a song about that, children.
