We went to visit my grandmother today - she is 97 years old and very sweet, lovely, and Welsh! Time with her is always very happy as you can see from this picture. To me she hasn't changed much at all over the last four decades. Christmas Day is her wedding anniversary; she got married in London in World War 2 but her husband, my grandfather, died in 1968, so Christmas is always a bitter-sweet time for her.

The children came with us and were very restrained when confronted by an absolutely massive box of chocolates. Now they are getting very excited about Christmas Day.
