Diary of an Edinburgher

Shopping

I took a fancy to go down to the Apple shop to check up on my iPhone upgrade programme. Actually, I’ve had quite a few email reminders inviting me to get my new phone. But there are no new iPhones since the last lot, when I decided not to upgrade.

The Apple employee was very good, and honestly said not to bother upgrading, which I wasn’t going to do anyway. And in fact, when it runs out, not to get the upgrade programme again. There are other options.

From there I popped in to M&S for the only thing I ever go in there for - about once every couple of years - new knickers.

Home again, and I was happy to see the bus driver waving a couple of elderly ladies on free because they wanted up the Mound. They were going to the castle, but I don’t think they’d get in there free.

Back home, everyone had gone. Archie out with Elizabeth, and JR at the supermarket. I watched a Prime show about the All Blacks, which was great. In fact, the cameras followed them for a whole year, with interviews, and it's several episodes long. It featured the drawn 2017 Lions tour. I shall return to it next time I’ve got the TV to myself.

Elizabeth stayed for tea when she brought Archie home. We had a delicious vegetarian Moussaka and Greek salad.

Town is looking particularly ragged at the moment, with hoardings up all over the place. All around the National Gallery, and The North Bridge, where they have big hoardings about various stuff. I liked this one.
