So here, what I've done today .... and what I didn't do. The bike, a Hercules folding bike, is in need of restoration & has been like this for some time. Behind it are some oak logs, cut to length & sealed with wax. I haven't done this before but freshly cut wood splits. Sealing the ends slows down the drying process, reducing splits. Hopefully, after waiting a while, these will dry out evenly ready for turning.
