A fabulous field
A couple of days ago Ann's friend, Fiona, who works at the Royal Edinburgh Hospital, said, 'Come and meet me at work at lunchtime and I will show you a good place to do some training with Trixie'.
We met her on Thursday and just look at this fabulous field. We've walked through the grounds of the Royal Edinburgh Hospital loads of times but didn't even know this large grassy area existed. It's fabulous! On Thursday there were people having their lunch and people exercising their dogs and people just sitting in the sun.
We went back first thing yesterday morning because I'm going to be doing a little bit of recall training there every day. The field was empty apart from a black Labrador, who didn't want to play with me, and a little tan coloured spaniel called Molly who did want to play with me. I had a lovely time running around with Molly. She goes there most days so I'm hoping I'll see her again. I also did some training. I had to sit and wait while Ann walked to different parts of the field and shouted, 'Trixie come.'
The good thing about this field; it's only about 5 mins from where we live, so even though it was pouring with rain this morning we still went there so that I could have a run about. We were the only people there cos a lot of people don't seem to go out in the rain with their doggies and Ann couldn't be bothered standing around in the rain so I didn't practise sitting and staying. I just practised coming. Obviously I was very good at that because there were no distractions.
Thank you Fiona for introducing us to this fabulous field. xx
