138/365 Memorial !

138/36518th May Memorial !  To 2nd Battalion, 16th Infantry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, US Army, unveiled today to remember the US soldiers that were stationed in the Bridport area during the run up to D Day. 75 years ago on 17th May 1944 under great secrecy they left the area to go to camps before the 6th June landings. Many who had spent over 7 months in West Dorset did not survive the landings but they left a lasting impression on those they had meet.
