Christmas Eve in Martin Place
Sydney always has a slightly weird feeling in the last few days before Christmas. Our long school holidays begin now, so many people have gone away, and those left behind are all inside the shops getting those last few gifts. So the streets seem almost empty.
This is the big tree in Martin Place, but from a distance, looking from East to West. It's lit up at night so looks much more spectacular, but it is lovely. The city always looks quite festive, though of course there is no snow!! Today was about 28 deg celsius, and humid too, so it was nicer to be inside.
The office was quiet on this last, single working day before Christmas, people wore shorts and even thongs (flip-flops) instead of business suits. The phones were quiet and we left early.
Now I'm watching Carols by Candelight on television, but soon it will be bedtime.
