Buckingham Fountain
Monday
What a difference a day makes! After yesterday's cool temperatures, grey skies and rain, today turned into a glorious day, though still somewhat cool out of the sun, with almost wall to wall sunshine and blue skies. We took the train into the downtown, and arrived in plenty of time for our appointment. we were out within an hour, and most of the rest of the day was ours to explore. We took a 90 minute architectural boat tour on the Chicago River, which was very interesting and informative, and a great way to see many of Chicago's impressive skyscrapers. We walked some of the recently constructed Riverwalk, stopping for a bit of lunch along the way, went to Buckingham Fountain, shown in my Blip, then to Millenium Park with the "Bean", or Cloudgate, to give it its correct title, and the striking Jay Pritzker Pavilion, and BP bridge, both designed by Frank Gehry. Those were just some of the highlights - we walked over 24,000 steps according to my Fitbit! We ended the day with some Chinese food, then took an Uber back to our hotel, where we were glad to rest our tired feet! I have added several additional photographs in the extras.
