Travels Through A Lens

The Family

We were up and out early for the traditional Xmas shop in York which starts with breakfast at little Betty's by the Minster. It's not as well known as the larger Betty's and is like having breakfast in someone's house complete with open fires (gas but they look real) and wonky floor boards. Eggs Benedict on a muffin and English tea. Bliss! The day was sunny and dry after days of rain. Got a couple of presents and a wooden owl from an ex shop display.

I captured this family taking pictures of the Minster. All three had their cameras held up and as I walked past them I really wanted to take a picture of them in front. Dad with the big DSLR, mum with her compact and the little boy with his camera that looked like a bridge camera. Alas I was heading the other way and didn't feel I could double back and the moment will have gone so I took the picture looking at the Minster, being the subject they were capturing. All through the year York is full of tourists and I love the vibrancy that brings.

Happy Christmas Eve everyone as I post this on Monday xx
