Þorláksmessa or St. Thorlaks day

Saint Thorlakur or Þorlákur Þorláksson is the only icelandic saint verified by the catholic pope. He died this day 1193 and was declared a saint but wasn't verified by the pope untill january 1984.

We mostly look at this day as the last day before christmas, since we celebrate christmas on the 24th at 18:00.
At this day we do the last preperations for christmas, start the cooking, last cleaning, last decorations and enjoy the day together.

And today was a cold day, we enjoyed the day mostly indoors with hot chocolate and reading and son playing with his Lego.
