Yummy Lettuce !!

Decided that as the weather forecast was 'unsettled' with possible showers to only take a short walk down to the duckponds. Iceland didn't have any of the bags of mixed veg I usually buy so went to Tesco and bought some garden lettuce instead. The swans love it, Mrs was taking leaves from my hand whilst the little ones were eagerly devouring the bits I 'ripped up' and dropped into the water.
The ducks and ducklings don't seem so keen on the lettuce (and the swans don't let the get a look in) so I scatter some wild bird seed for them. The poor ducklings are still being harassed by both the swans and black back gulls, with one nearly being caught by Mrs Swan. When I left they had been split into two 'groups', two took refuge on the island in the middle of the pond. The other three were hiding in the bushes along the side of the pond. Hopefully once the swans settle down for the night they'll get back together.
