Looking Down

My husband wakes up much earlier than I do, so after our hike through the sand dunes this morning, he was ready for a nap.  I went out for another walk on this beautiful sunny day, and decided to take a different approach.  Usually I'm looking up, hoping to spot an unusual bird, or a raptor.  Today I looked down.  I walked through a meadow, then onto the bay beach where it happened to be low tide.  I don't know what type of shell this is, but I liked the colors, and the tiny little friend hiding under it.
Tonight we're going out to dinner to celebrate our 38th wedding anniversary.  Wow, I'll definitely be getting a big glass of wine.
