The shot is taken of the very large globe (at least 100 years old) in the library of the Italian Ministry of Transport - the size can be compared to the legs of the guy just behind it. With the lamps looking like eyes, my German friend said it reminded him of the first Indiana Jones movies opening as he was waling along the corridor and seeing the globe at the very end. Hence the soundtrack.
