Libellula depressa

A Female Broad-bodied Chaser and my first dragonfly of 2019

Spotted by @darkpeakbirder at home while I was out and about mostly failing to get a good photo of a Redstart at Brockholes Wood Nature Reserve. A Male Redstart calling constantly and I could hear it from the Campsite area where a Cuckoo was also calling.  The Redstart was flying long distances in the wood at times but kept settling on a dead tree just too far away for a good photo.

I also did a bit of litter picking chasing and catching a ballon in the Wood
I tied it to my camera bag ( I thought) but it escaped and this time when I caught it POP that was the end of that.  Very warm day for chasing balloons about.
