Garden of the Gods, take two
I posted a photo from Garden of the Gods two weeks ago, when I went there for my first Blipmeet! I was so busy talking to my new friends (MaryElizaR, dfb24, and njoyce06) that I really didn't concentrate on my photography.
So today I went with a local friend (who I have yet to talk into joining Blip) with two identical cameras (Canon 70D) to compare two different lenses. One lens is a Sigma 18-300 mm, and the other is a Sigma 17-50 mm. I fully expected the big zoom to take interesting close ups, and the more wide angle lens to do justice to the sweeping landscape.
But the main photo of the spires was taken with the bigger zoom cranked down to 56 mm. And in extras, is a long shot of Pikes Peak taken through a window in the rock formation called the Siamese Twins, that was taken with the shorter lens set at 30 mm.
I guess the lesson for me is to take more than one lens when I go on a shoot.
